About University
In 2003, the Dr. D Y Patil Vidyapeeth University in Pune was designated as a "Deemed-to-be-University." By Dr. D Y Patil Vidyapeeth Society, Pune under Section 3 of UGC Act 1956 in 2003. From a humble beginning with one constituent unit i.e. Dr. D Y Patil Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre, Pune. DPU over the last 16 years has grown exponentially with addition of eight more constituent units under its ambit.
The Government of India, MHRD, on the advice of UGC, declared Dr. DPU, Pune as Deemed-to-be University. Comprising of Dr. D Y Patil Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre, Pimpri, Pune .
Later on, the Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development included three more institutions namely Dr. D Y Patil Dental College & Hospital, Pimpri, Pune, Dr. D Y Patil College of Nursing, Pimpri, Pune and Dr. D Y Patil College of Physiotherapy, Pimpri Pune.
Subsequently, three new institutes namely, Dr. D Y Patil Biotechnology & Bioinformatics Institute, Tathawade, Pune, Global Business School & Research Centre, Tathawade, Pune and Dr. D Y Patil Institute of Optometry & Visual Sciences, Pimpri, Pune were approved by UGC; vide its Office Memorandum dated 16th March 2010.

Overall this is a good college.
Placements: Around 70% of students were placed in my course. The highest is 5 LPA, the lowest is 1.5 LPA, and the average is 3 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Amazon, TCS, Wipro, etc. About 40% in companies like Wipro, Amazon, Flipkart, genesis, etc. Human Resource Manager, Production Manager, Business Consultant, Marketing Manager, etc., are the job roles.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite good, there is Wi-Fi available, with well-built classrooms and library facilities. The hostel facility is also good, with a clean mess, the quality of food in the canteen is commendable, with the added medical facility and sports opportunities with various games available. Overall the provided facilities of the college are quite satisfactory.
Faculty: Teachers were helpful and always ready to clear any doubt and provide help when necessary. Well qualified and knowledgeable teachers.
